The Bible gives us the answer.
Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Eph 3:10 God's purpose was to show his wisdom in all its rich variety to all the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. They will see this when Jews and Gentiles are joined together in his church. (New Living Translation)

First, we are only born with sin because Adam and Eve were rebelious. Had they not been disobedient, they would have produced perfect offspring and thus we would have been born perfect too. Second, God created us out of love. Just as a man and woman may desire having children to give their love to, so God wanted to create people to give his love to and who are capable of returning love. Creating us with free will is a loving provision. This way we are able to show him we love him, not because he makes us, but because we WANT to. If he created us without free will we would be nothing more than robots who are incapable of loving or appreciating the love he gives us. And since we're made in God's image and love dominates everything he does (in fact, the Bible says God IS love), we have the ability to love an be loved.
What is sad is that people don't spend more time really studying the Bible to understand it. Most the churches of the world teach false doctrines and only use the basic Bible principles to teach their paritioners...they never delve into the deeper things, usually because they don't fully understand them. That's why so many people in the world have such misguided understanding of Biblical principles...as the Bible says, they're following blind leaders. Just as the Ethopian eunuch responded when asked if he understood what he was reading in the Bible, "Really, how could I ever do so unless someone guided me?" If you really want to have understanding of the Bible, I would recommend talking with Jehovah's Witnesses.

This is a very interesting question and I'm sure you will get an array of answers. As an individual who believes God exists and is The Creator, here's my attempt to answer it:
In the most basic sense, God actually did not create man. The essence, or intelligence, of who we are was not created nor can it be destroyed. Prior to this earth life, we already existed in a pre-mortal sphere - we were there with God and governed and taught by Him. Our knowledge and progression there was limited as we did not have physical bodies nor the temptations that accompany mortal existence. God created a plan where we could come to earth, receive physical bodies and progress spiritually. It was not an evil, self-centered, nor narcissistic plan. Rather, it was a benevolent, divine, and purposeful plan. Each was given the opportunity to reject this plan or accept it and pass through mortality. Those on earth willingly accepted this plan. Through mortality, we gain a physical body and we maintain the ability to exercise our agency - or choose right and wrong. In choosing right over wrong, we progress spiritually and as we progress spiritually we become more Godlike. We enjoy Godlike blessings like true happiness, joy, and eventually eternal life. God created mankind because he loves us, and because he wants us to be glorious like him. As we realize our full potential, I believe someday we can be.

According to the Bible, God created us to be an image of God's character and represent him on earth (to the animals perhaps, over which we are to have dominion - though remember this is in a vegetarian context since God gave humans plants as their food at this early stage before sin) (see Genesis 1:27-29).

In Genesis 2 there is another creation story that gives more details about the role of humans. It seems to be saying that God created humans to work the ground, and to look after (literally "serve and protect") the garden in which he put them.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Gen%202:5-9,15;&version=31;
ThusGod created us to be his representatives on earth, to be a picture or "image" of God, and we are the caretakers of the earth, we are to look after it.
God creatd man perfect and sinless, in a world without anything evil in it. However he created man with free will, and man chose to follow Satan instead of God, and the race fell into sin.
God coul have created man as a robot, programmed to not sin and just obey him, but God wants us to be his friends, not his robots.

In the beginning mankind was perfect. Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan which caused all mankind to be born into sin. They were given freedom of choice.
God created us, because He wanted someone to love. He still loves us. But just because He loves all mankind, doesn't mean that everyone will make it into Heaven. You must accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour to walk through the Pearly Gates.

He didn't create us flawed. We made ourselves that way. We sorta got tricked, but really we had been warned and it was our fault. The Bible makes it seem like we might not be in the same position if Adam and Eve had just fessed up to and said they were sorry instead of blaming each other. The only reason we are capable of it, is because we have freedom of choice.

there are several answers and different levels of scholarships that is needed to anser this question
Life is given to us because we are children of God.
then as children of God we are corrupted because of temptation and evil. and conspiracy.
So, as we are alive in the spirit we must also live according to the spirit of righteousness, but we cannot live according to eternity because many learn how to decieve. So we must live according to mortality and be born without memory so that we can obtain the rewards of eternal beings that are lawful and obedient.
perfection has different levels of definitions
being sinless is one definition.
those that choose to do evil will do so because its in their hearth but those that believe will follow righteousness.

I think this is a great question. The answer is, He wouldn't. A perfect being could not want or need anything. He would be perfect and complete. He can't be bored, He can't want anything from us. Want or Need implies a lacking of something, and this being could not lack anything.

gods purpose for us in the beginning was for us to live in perfection in a paradise, to serve him and do his will and it still continues to be his purpose its just that man kind decided to rule themselves instead of being guided by God. and here we are now, wars, violence, immorality, diseases, and so on. its clear that man cannot govern themselves. thats why we need to let ourselves ben guided by gods word which is the bible. god loves us and wants us to be happy and live n peace and perfection. but look, adam and eve were created perfect, it says in the book of Genesis. they had the opportunity to live forever in perfection. instead of choosing this road, they let themselves be tricked by satan, a selfish creature, they decided on their own that they wanted to live their life wihout gods guidance. now god specifically warned them that if they disobeyed for watever reason they would die. now people say that if god was indeed so loveing why didnt he forgive them if they were tricked into eating the forbidden fruit. but you have to remember that adam and eve were perfect and someting thats very important is that god had given them everything they wanted, and here comes this complete stranger who gave or did nothing for them, and they believed him. Now that tree represented gods right as theyre creator to make the decisions for them, when they ate from it, they took that away.
