Yes they do.
I have one cat who absolutely knows the meaning of the word no and another who knows it, but doesn't care. It is all about training. When they know that praise comes from good behaviour they observe the word no.

An animal only knows right from wrong if it has been trained, much like a child. So the answer is probably no, that cat has no clue if it does something wrong.

Of course they do!
Mine's always hiding the credit card bill so that I won't see what she's charged...cat toys, mostly.
And, the other day I caught her using the sticky roller to remove cat fur from the driver's seat of my new car so that I wouldn't know she'd taken it out (she's only allowed to drive the Chrysler).

lots of if's to answer that!!!! do they all know right from wrong in general?? of course not! humans have to teach them what they consider right from wrong. once we do, cats generally know, as shown by the look and rather fast dash for freedon they exhibit when caught on the kitchen counter! but please remember that cats have virtually no span for this type of memory, making any punishment after the fact completely useless. we can squirt them with the water bottle when caught red-pawed but not after the crime. if i find paw prints but no cat where they shouldn't be, he got away with another escapade! cats aren't born with the knowledge of right from wrong but they have the capability. lucky for them, the have the cuteness to make it all right in the end!

Sometimes. Mine is not allowed on the furniture but every once in awhile she will test me by getting up on the couch or chair and immediately looks at me to see what I am going to do. I say her name and she will kind of cower down like I cant see her or something. As soon as I move towards her she jumps down and lays at my feet on her back wanting to be rubbed. I wonder what she does when I leave the house. Spoiled brat! :)

It's nature for them to know. My two boys always have a guilty look and run like hell when I come into the room. I don't beat them either. I will slap their a ss if they do something wrong, but I won't abuse them.

If it's trained it will immediately find out it did something wrong when you start yelling, or make a 'angry sign' If it's not trained I think it would find out when you physically abuse it. But don't try to harm your cat it will only grow more evil.

Yes. I used to have a cat that would **** in my shoe and then run and hide when I got home.

I believe so. Sometimes I'll tell mine to get off the table...nothing happens. Once I start walking toward the table they're off.
