I had reluctanly went to chruch with my friend and her familiy and they were touched by the Pastor's sermon but I wasn't. And they were asking me "That was deep, I'm surprised you didn't feel it most people do."

Boy! this really does get into the issues of Humanism and religion!
Spirituality is something quite different from the other topics.
You may not have been " brainwashed" by the coventional church
witch is a good thing! Keep you perspective on conventional religions. There is that thing I call social acceptability and control of the masses that religions relating to Christianity ALL have in common and as a result, a lie to the masses. I would look into other belief systems to find what 'fits' so to speak. We, as sentient beings are ultimately responsible for what happens to our immortal souls. It's All up to you! EXAMINE YOUR INNER MOTIVATIONS, YOU WILL FIND YOUR SECRET PATH! GOOD LUCK!

i had a similar experience, when i was invited to a certain church the pastor YELLED the entire sermon, and i was completely Turned off yet when i was asked about the power of the sermon i couldnt relate with the message because i never heard it.
and another time i went to a different church and all i got from the sermon was the urge to leave because of the burning and choking in my throat.
People practice sorceries throughout the world and claim it to be the power of God. but i think they are deceived and/or delusional.
its definitely an act of oppression and terrorism to me.

the act of calling someone spiritual resides with each person and whether they are deceived or know the truth. If God was to introduce himself to you, i believe you would feel truly blessed. and if you were to see others that dont know God, you would conclude they are not spiritual but rather deceived.
Sometimes there are people who are not moved by the doctrines of men because they will ONLY believe the truth.

Every one has the God seeking sense in him or her, the search for something higher. Even atheists can pretend that they escape it for a while only to embrace later in life the most ridiculous superstitions after overcorrecting for that vacuum left by removing God. So I suspect that you won't be able to inhibit that sense of something higher for long. Just be careful that when you do, you don't fall for just anything out there. As for myself, I believe in Christ because I am not interested in the philosophy of other humans and I think Christ was divine.

Well, I was raised southern Baptist, but do you think church has anything to do with getting saved. RELIGION CAN NOT SAVE YOU! Just talk to God and pray for mercy.
ABC's of becomming a Christian
A-admit that your a sinner
B-believe that Jesus is Gods only Son
C-Confess to the world what you believe

All people are spiritual by nature, but not all on the same plane or path. That is why there is a multitude of churches, temples and synagogues.

You may be better suited to another type of church, or even another faith other then Christian.

no dont worry. they felt that because they are open to God right now. You may not have been called to Him yet. Maybe the fact that you are asking this question means He has sparked interest in you. If you really are curious, pray and ask Him, maybe you can open your heart then and see what happens. Maybe God is just waiting for the perfect moment where He can grab your attention!

Yes, people with a good amount of natural intelligence, freedom and creativity of thought and a desire not to embrace superstitious nonsense designed to give comfort for the ignorant - those people are not cut out for religion.

Indeed, some recent studies on the brain even hint at the fact that it may be about how we are hard wired and how we respond to 'religious type' experiences.
