I left my 10 month old kitten at home when I went on vacation. While his vet is across the street, I wanted him to be in familiar surroundings.
When I got back, he had opened the shredder and played with all of the paper, which is now all over my living room. Thank goodness the shredder was unplugged!
He also gave me "love bites" to let me know he was happy I was back.

Haha sounds like he was bored..and he probaly missed you. I have two female kittens they dont mind when I leave because they have each other, so they are usually occupied. Maybe you should get him a playpal, or you could give him to a friend or relative when youre gone. But he should be alright because cats are independent animals.

when my grandma went on vacation for a week her cat go mad at her. He would leave the room whenever she came in for a few days after her return. He even waited for her to leave the kitchen before he would come in and eat his dinner! And if you came in a room he was in, he would stick his tail straight up and stalk out of the room without looking at you. He was very angry.

They do things they are not allowed to do. They chew up the toilet paper, knock things over, knock over the bathroom garbage can and hid the q-tips, go on the tables and counters because if they went on the tables and counters when we are home they know they will get smacked.

so sad you should have at least had someone go there everyday to check on her what if the shredder had been left on!!! The litter box not cleaned for a WEEK yuk!!! Poor kitty.
