When I open itunes 7 it shuts down almost immediately, i have windows xp and I have tried reloading it.?

I have reinstalled and I have uninstalled quicktime also. i have also scanned for viruses.

uninstall both itunes and quick time. scan your computer for spyware. re-install itunes.
