I personally think parents can be good role models, whether it be negative or postitive, you can learn from them and their actions. For example, my mom did a lot of "bad stuff" or so my grandparents use to call it, and I guess I learned from her in a way. I don't want to make the same mistakes she did, but she has recovered and I think she is a very strong woman and role model. My grandmother is one of the smartest women I have ever met. She always has the best advice, and seems to know me better than I know myself. I never wanted to listen to her when I was little, but now I look back on all she told me and now I can say "wow, she was right."

I wouldn't suggest anyone in the "Media". They appear to be real, but they're just so phony. I don't see why anyone would envy that sort of lifestyle. I would choose a "real" person that makes the most of their life and is involved with helping others, whether it be a co-worker, someone at school, or a friend/family member. They're always the best people to learn from.

For a guy I would say (wierd but think about it...) Ty Pennington from Extreme Makeover Home Edition. He seems to be very well grounded and puts his heart into helping others.

For a girl I think I would say someone like Beyonce or Jennifer Lopez. They also seem to be very grounded and humble for a celeb. Both coming from nothing as children and becoming such beautiful and talented women.

Alexander the Great because he conqured the known world at the time. *okay I'm slightly geeky give me a break* Plus there isn't the whole media frenzy with him like there is with all the celebrities today...hero worship is pointless, they're all just people with their own flaws.
