im in a long distance realsionship with sumone, and his family has never met me. but they keep talking trash about me. like, his mom says that im too controlling and that i have him on a leash..but she dont know ANYTHING about me..and thats totally not true. and then his borther is saying how i must have a personality defect if i cant get a guy near me. i totally can, i just love the guy im with so i choose not to. HOW DO I GET THEM TO STOP TALKING CRAP ABOUT ME AND SEE ME FOR WAT I RAELLY AM?

I know the answer to your problem. I had your problem a few times and this is how I solved it. I found the answer in the Bible. It says somewhere in Proverbs that if you pray for your enemies, they will be made to be at peace with you. So, you pray "Lord I ask you to bless my boy friend and his dad and his mom and his brother and all his relatives, protect them from accidents and injuries, protect them from sicknesses and illnesses, and bless them in their jobs, bless them in their relationships, and protect them from finacial problems. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen." Then call your boy friend and ask to talk to his mom, and tell his mom that you are praying for her, and read your prayer to her. Once you do this, she will share it with his dad and with his brother and with your boy friend. And then they will stop talking crap about you and see you for what you really are, and you REALLY ARE AN OUTSTANDING WOMAN FOR THEIR SON TO BE IN LOVE WITH!!!!!!! God Bless You and Your Boy Friend!

Do you really know they're talking crap, or is it just what your boyfriend reports? As others here have said, they only know what he tells them, and what they see of how he acts or talks about you. And you only know what he's relating back to you, but it's probably not the whole story. Plus, why would he tell you all these terrible things?? It's not very nice of him to pass this along and upset you. Does he try to stand up for you when his family talks trash? Or, maybe he's having second thoughts about the relationship and telling you all these things is his way of creating a drama and having a reason to break up?
You're not going to change their opinion of you. If you know you're not that way, then that's all you need to know. Just be yourself.

Do you really show who you are? Maybe that's what scares them off. Tone it down a little. Instead of high beams, trying just the parking lights. Instead of putting the pedal to the metal, try going for the smooth cruise. Instead of whammer-jammer, try a mister misty.

You said it yourself, they need to see who you really are !!
So why don't you go up to their place with your friend, and have a visit. Once they see how truly innocent and friendly you are they would be sure to change their mind. If not, then send them a card you made or something

THEY CAN'T SEE YOU FOR WHAT YOU REALLY ARE- and thats probably the main issue. ALL you are is a voice on a phone. They have these ideals of you for a reason...perhaps your boyfriend isnt painting a nice picture of you?
