My house is very broken up and right now all the walls are white. I want some color, Ilike the light browns but my boyfriend dislikes them. I am thinking lighter colors and I am going to keep all the trim work white which i think will look sharp and I am putting silver outlets on all the outlet and switch covers. What colors would look great?

sage would be sharp with white and silver or a steel blue to make it a bit more masculine for your boyfriend

to try out the colors before you jump in, go to

www.behr.com

and click on "color smart". it's an interactive tool where you pick a room style (try one that's similar to your rooms to get the same feel as your house) and pick colors and click to paint. you can paint different walls different colors, trims & the ceiling too, so that you can get an idea of what color does in a space similar to yours.

unfortunately, the colors aren't super accurate from your computer screen to real life, but just use the "behr paint game" to get an idea of the type of colors you'd like, and to convince that boyfriend that white walls are way lame. then go to the paint store of your choice and pick colors with a similar feel from the actual paint chips (which tend to be fairly accurate). if you're really anal about picking the colors, take the paint chips *outside* since you don't have fluorescent lights in your house like they do in the store, and color will look a little different.

Any blue or red would work, but what would do best would be a bold color.

My choice would be a bold red it would go perfect with white trim and silver outlets.

Good Luck!

Here's a few suggestions. By the way, light browns will be awesome as well as yellow. Click links for ideas
