Any symbol will do. My first wedding ring was actually a thin gold wire hoop earring. It was all we could afford at the time, but it didn't mean any less to me than the fanciest diamond encrusted band. We each wore one.
As time went by he bought me progressively more expensive rings. Lovely thought, but now we're divorced.
Go figure.

Do not buy her a wedding ring. Buy her a promise ring. Mean while save up to buy an old fashion simple gold wedding ring. After all the ring is only a daily reminder of the commitment you made to love and care for each other. Remeber the simple things of life are the things we need to value most. Our life, health, family & friends, whom without nothing in this world really matter.

Well, its hard to find one of those types of rings, but a wedding ring always doesn't matter. Loving her will make her feel special too.
