An unmarried woman can live as safe or unsafe as a married woman. What has marriage got to do with safety of a woman? How much protection do you think a husband can provide? The attackers are normally in numbers, armed etc. in which case the husband is rendered a helpless spectator. The married woman can be harmed when she is not with her husband.
