True believers can't be fanatics at the same time. It would be an oxymoron.
And a holy book can only be holy if it doesn't contradict our conscience, for how can a holy book which is supposed to guide us to God and life of virtue doesn't seem to see eye to eye with God's given conscience? It would just be another oxymoron.
God knows best.
Peace and Love.

First of all you read the OT with a carnal mind, & a carnal mind can not understand the things of God, It takes a spiritual mind, & when you went to your uncle, You just as well read a comic book. Because God don't need people to teach religious education, Because they are giving you also a carnal answer. The Only education a person needs is to know God & let God guide & direct his life, & that is done by praying.

The Bible won't be a source for allot of the dogma, so i'm gonna pass with treating human beings incredibly. Of the ten commandments specific "unfair" acts are forbidden: -homicide -Stealing -intercourse with anther's important different or with all and sundry different than your important different -mendacity/bearing fake witness (probably this has huge implications in court docket complaints could one be referred to as as a witness) Even desiring what belongs to a diverse is forbidden. There are OT regulations concerning how slaves are to be dealt with, and making provisions for the undesirable. i'm attracted to seeing what others ought to assert in this.

Watering it down until you're comfortable with it's precepts doesn't work. Many will try. Here's something from the New Testament.
....for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Read the new testiment! The ot God was a God of wrath to show his power. But Read John. See God's mercy. We have all sined and come short of the glory of God but God loved you enough to send his only son to die for you. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not parish but have everlasting life." John3:16

Fanatics is your interpretation. We are in Love with our Lord. We center our lives around him because we know his divinity. We see the truth. When you see the truth you will get it.
