The doctrine of the Trinity (in shorthand) is that Jesus and God are one and the same and also the Holy Spirit (three-in-one). One's faith is supposed to overcome the fact that this doesn't make lgical sense.
There were some sects in Christianity's early days (since declared heretical) that did argue that God and Jesus were different entities--Arianism being the most prominent (coming close to overshadowing Catholicism toward the end of the empire).

Your talking about the trinity. According to the doctrine of the trinity, God is one God, but made up of three distinct persons: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Jesus (pbuh) is thought of as 100% human and 100% divine. So I guess Jesus is 200% Jesus.
I heard an analogy once where the Father was supposed to be the rain, which created a stream, The Son, with irrigated crops for harvesting. The whole process lumped together would be considered the whole of God.
It doesn't quite make sense to me either. To me it sounds like a way to keep the monotheist label, when you call a man divine.

If I am correct about this, the Trinity doctrine teaches that the Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit are separate persons but one God. At least some of the Bible passages teaching that there is one God can be interpreted as meaning that God is one, that is, united.. One in purpose, action, desire, etc.

Jesus is not God, In Fact God did not even dwell in Jesus until John Baptized him at the age of 30, There is no 3 persons in the Godhead, There is only One Spirit but in 3 different manifestations of the same spirit, You have God, He is not a person but a spirit being, & the Holy Ghost which is the self same spirit of God only working as the comforter instead of the creator, Here is God's 3 office works Or manifestations of the One & Only Spirit, You have God the Creator, Then God in Jesus with all power that God is in Christ Yet God did not empty space, he dwell in Jesus at the age of 30 & not before then, Now you are looking at Jesus with God in him without measure, As the redeemer reconciling the world back unto himself, Many that thinks the Flesh of Jesus was God is Blind, Tell me when did God died, He never has & never will, It was that perfect attonement for our sins that die & that was Jesus Christ The SON OF GOD, can you imagine if that was God that died, Then satan would of not let Jesus raise from the dead, Because he would have God dead if That flesh of Jesus was God, Gos is not a person But a Spirit, & now the 3rd office work or manifestation of God as the HOLY GHOST, But by the one & only self same spirit & now that Holy Ghost dwells in us with measure.

Jeus is God in the flesh. That is why he is the son of God. The Father, son and Holy Spirit are all of God.
