or was it written to be a simple work of fiction to keep the people of those times in some kind of social order. maybe some sort of politician in those days decided to create this great story to gain riches, have the unconditional support of the people, and to manipulate generations to come.

hey, it kind of sounds like our world today.

It could probably be said of the 4 gospels that they were written as a biography of Jesus life and times, although they are much more then that. The whole bible can be read as a Biography of the life of Jesus.

Was the Bible written as fiction for Gain or to manipulate? I think not at all.

The Bible authors could never have known how incredibly their writing were to influence the world to become, and I just don't think there was that much money in writing at the time.

Do you mean the New Testament? The Bible had been around long before the birth of Christ!
The Bible was written by tons of authors...
The New Testament is made more credible by this fact! So many men from Christ's time wrote the same things of his life! They were all there...it's not fiction!

As for the Old Testament...not fiction either...there's so much historical evidence of the (true)stories! You need to study it! It's very interesting to use even as a history book!

I wholeheartedly agree with Shayna's answer, and I would like to add some of my thoughts on the subject. The Bible is the unchanging word of God. While "science" is ever changing, the bible's truth is trustworthy. Evolutionists find fossils and interpret them in the light of their presuppositions. They always try to prove their theories by fitting new discoveries into their preconceived mold. They love to try to contradict biblical truth, but fail each time as is proven when another new discovery is made. They say a universal flood never occurred, but they can't explain with any logic the discoveries they make. Some honest evolutionists have even come forth and admitted that. They say the earth is millions or billions of years old with no solid proof whatsoever. The Christ of the bible is the sovereign Creator of the universe.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jesus Christ is the Word of God, made into flesh.
When you read your Bible, you are reading Jesus Christ himself.

Organized religions have since the beginning attempted to use God as a way to control people with fear, etc. Thats true.
That was man, and is man today who does that. God's Word is like a hammer - you can pick up a hammer and build something beautiful with it -- or you can smash somebody over the head and kill them with it.

1 John 1
Introduction
1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,[a] whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.[b]

John 21:24 This disciple is the one who testifies to these events and has recorded them here. And we know that his account of these things is accurate.

Acts 1
1 In my first book[a] I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit. 3 During the forty days after his crucifixion, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.

25 Jesus also did many other things. If they were all written down, I suppose the whole world could not contain the books that would be written.

I think the old testament ( part of the Bible) was written before Jesus. So it would not be a biography.
I think the new testament speaks to the teachings and events surrounding Jesus.
I hope this helps you.

Almost every book in the Bible draws or implies life applications from the facts of history and the TEACHING it presents. When authors interpret and apply the data they present, they depart from the preservation of history for the sake of the preservation of history.
