Who on earth would want to learn arabic.

English is the international language and you can speak that.

As my grandfather used to say: 'If they don't talk English, they don't exist'.

Dearborn, Michigan (in/near Detroit) has the 2nd largest Arab population of any community in the whole USA. I don't know if you live near there, but there are probably classes Dearborn.

Also, the Foreign Service Institute Department of State has language courses that you can buy (a course might cost about 200 dollars). You get a text book and cd's/cassetts. The courses are actually used by government officials who need to learn languages quickly and efficiently. They really do work, too.

The company is called Audio Forum: The Language Source. Check it out.

Hi Paul, good evening every body and happy new year !...
Beside the tips you can pick up from some of the serious answers given to you,
May I suggest to you if you are available in summer,to go to Tunisia and attend the summer courses provided by a well known institute for languages called :" Bourguiba School "
It's worth it according to some people I met and studied Arabic there.I think you can make your application by mail if it's suitable for you. Here is a web site where you can have it's address to have all the information, you have to decide as soon as possible because the number of students the institute can accept is limited. << htpp:// www.universites.tn >> and
<< htpp://www.edunet.tn >>

The best thing you could do is either look for someone who speaks good English & Arabic & could help you out with understanding more.
Or you could place an Ad in any newspaper looking for an arabic teacher.
I guess the best newspaper to place your add would be Waseet, I know that it is a free newspaper & exsists in all the middle easet.

Well, if you join the army and qualify with enough language learning ability, you could be an Arabic language specialist and study at one of the nation's best language learning institutes, the DLI (Defense Language Institute). The downside is that you would most probably end up serving in Iraq.
