Jan 30 is the official public release date, check out the main vista page (below).
As for new features, go to Microsofts new feature list, cinda biased but it does have all the features (second link).

from what i know it will be officially released the end of january 2007. as for the new features vista will definately deliver a much better and impressive quality of graphics than xp and from my experience testing the RC1 first and second release of vista, i realize that my computer works faster than when i have xp installed. Vista was redesigned and redeveloped from scratch which means it will work with a different; i assume better way than previous microsoft operating systems

Same old system with a new skin and animations. Oh and a bunch of new OS bugs like everyother new release. Save your money. Ignore Vista, at least until a second release with fewer bugs.
