I have a HD ready TV and have connected a DVD player with HDMI upscaling. The connection is via an HDMI to DVI cable but whatever DVD I play the picture freezes every 50 seconds or so, does anyone know why this is happening?
TV is Erae 40" HD ready (ELT-4000AP)
DVD Player is Philips DVP5960 (HDMI upscaling output)

Try different DVDs. By the way, upscaling is kinda like when you take a low resolution picture and make it much bigger. Technically it's an HD picture, but unless you are using a special new DVD player called an HD-DVD player with HD-DVD discs, it's not truly 1080i. If it freezes every 50 seconds, this could be a problem with the player or any number of things. I ONLY use component video connectors to bring an HD signal to and from anywhere. Find a way to only use component video cables.
