I grew up with it pounded into my brain. But then I got curious and investigated many other valid theories about who the Children of Israel are and found that dispensatonalism is fairly new on the scene easy to sensationalize and sell and because of that has proliferated rapidly over the past century. I have drifted away from it to a more preterist or historisist view.
