I heard a claim that Oklahoma has more shoreline than any other state. Being from Michigan, I find this difficult to believe. With 4 of the 5 Great Lakes touching our borders and all the inland lakes we have, it's hard to believe that a land-locked state can make this claim.

Of the 48 states, it is Michigan. Alaska if you count all 50.

Alaska! It has 33,000 miles of sea coast. (in accordance to Alaska Coastal administration software). California's is below 900 miles. Florida has approximately 1200 miles (including the gulf - which has some large beaches).

I would have to go with Alaska on this one. It is the largest state and if you lay it on top of the US, it does cover a large portion of it. Think about all the small islands it contains too.

alaska has the most and the roughest waters. in the continetal US i think it is California or Texas
