My boyfriend and i have been together for about a year. I love him and i know he loves me. He has even talked about wanting to marry me. Well, the other night we were talking and he said that he is not excited at all about his future. I took affence to that because i plan on being apart of his future. Should i let that effect me, or am i just being over-dramatic and i should just let it go.

Your asking a very important question. You are concerned about his comment and you should be. A successful relationship means that you share your hope and plans for the future. If he isnt positive about the future, then he will definately be taking you into a negative situation. Talk to him about that comment. He may have mis-spoken....but, find out for sure. You need to know who you have hitched up with and what kind of goals they have. Maybee it's nothing, maybee its something? I wasnt there. But, I am here now and I dont like the sound of that comment. If you want a great life for yourself, you need to be with someone that wants a great life as well. I hope this helps.

If he's talked about marrying you, he's serious (men don't mention the 'm' word lightly you know!). I think you're being too sensitive. He might have been talking about his career, a financial future or whatever. Men usually compartmentalise things, so for him his future is a lot of little boxes all containing different things, and you may be one of the boxes. We women tend to see the whole picture. Back off and don't be so easily offended! Continue to love him and be loved by him (deep down I think we can tell when they really love us can't we?). Don't go on about marriage either - let him mention it himself one day (don't wait YEARS though!)

No, dont let that effect you at all. Poor hun. He probaly is having a rough life right now. Comfurt him dont let the things he say effect you. if he wants to marry you he will ask you. A year is just a year. Give it a bit more time. You never know what surprises he will throw at you in this new year.

One of the most important things to remember about our guys is that they're guys. They don't look at the future and see you in your wedding gown and babies. The look at their future and see the game on Sunday or going to work tomorrow. You can't be so sensitive, you just have to ask specific questions regarding what you want to know.

You should ask him what about his future he is not excited about. Don't jump to conclusions, that could be dangerous.
