he has annoyed me immensely the last 2 days - is it very bad etiquette just to leave him there, turn the fire off and go to bed?

It's not really an issue of etiquette, it is an issue of whether or not he is worth the emotional energy you are having to put into the relationship. If he disrespects you so much that he gets drunk and passes out on the sofa, the question is, is he worth your time at all.

First attempt to wake him to have go shower and go to bed with you, if that doesn't work...by all means leave him there, make warm and go get youself comfortable for the night and sweet dreams. When you both wake up and have clear heads tell him about how annoyed you are by his actions and ask him to do something different at the end of the day with his drining and sleeping. Good Luck!

Don't wake a drunk. Toss a blanket on him if you feel generous and leave him to sleep it off. Get a decent guy, life is too short to be spent with a drunk.

wow, he's been on the sofa drunk for two days now?

He's lucky. My gf dumped me for passing out on the couch, cuz she said I was an alkie. :(

Your only concern is whether to turn the heat off.

It's okay to turn the fire off if you stick his hand in hot water first.

I hear it can cause uh...great embarassment to someone if you stick his hand in hot water while he's sleeping.

Of course you can go to bed. Just make sure he has a blanket.

Roll him out the door. If you live where it is cold, then roll him out and then cover him up. Don't let him in until he joins AA and gets some help.

They make nasal strips for that now. smack one in him when hes out. As for the drunkeness, nothing for that yet.
