I want to gauge my ears but my mother hates the idea, so instead of doing that, I am willing to settle for dying my hair. I plan to use Kool-Aid to dye it with, so it should wash out pretty easily. Any Ideas on how to bring up the subject so they will say yes?

I'm guessing your mother would rather you have a more natural look, therefore, the kool-aid idea might not impress her. If you are wanting a bright color like that, there may be no way to convince her. If you want something more subtle, show her a few pictures that you like so she has an idea of what you're wanting. Highlights might be a good idea, since some of your natural color will still show through. You could also ask her about a semi-permanent color just to start out with, since it fades out in 2- 8 weeks. Good luck.

please, whatever you do, don't do it with kool aid!! it's doomed for disaster...
instead, consult with a hairstylist, or you can just buy a hairdye box from the local drug store (semi-permanent)
what colour do you want to go? depending on your hair colour, if you want to go darker or lighter, it is always easier to go darker than lighter. good luck

Not koolaid,,,, bad........Try loreial pulse, they make it for younger people and it washes out with like 7 washes. I used it before, its nice.
