i'm from la, and i wanna go to nyc! i'll trade places with you, if you want. i would only recommend coming to la if you are trying to get into the entertainment business, or if you must have warm weather for most of the year. there are no seasons here. it's extremely filthy and polluted. most people are very distant from each other (physically and mentally). there aren't many safe areas to walk, and if you do walk anywhere in la, you will automatically be an outcast, because everyone drives here. it is very hard to make friends here. many people are very superficial and phony. for example, they may be nice and friendly to your face, but you then they flake on you and talk about you behind your back, spread rumors, etc. i feel like people from nyc are much more real and upfront. just talk to a lot of people who have been to la, and get feedback from them first. the only way i can see someone enjoying la is if they have a nice car, trendy clothes, lots of money, live in an expensive suburb, and be in the entertainment business. if you like to party, there's lots of clubs and parties all the time. that's about the only good thing i've found in la in almost 10 years here.
