Hi SHaron

Here is the main answer.

Hydration for Resplendent Skin

Nicholas V. Perricone MD - "We must drink eight to 10 glasses of pure water a day. Diet sodas and coffee don’t count, though I’m allowing tea (green or black) as part of the 8 to 10 daily glasses. When we decrease inflammation in the body, the brain works better, mood is elevated, skin becomes more radiant, dark circles and puffiness under the eyes resolve, skin becomes more toned, and even fine lines can diminish. We must remember that the skin is a reflection of our internal health. Therefore, if our skin improves, all other vital organs also improve. This decreases our risk of every disease from which we suffer." Nicholas V. Perricone MD, is the author of “The Wrinkle Cure.”

Batmanghelidji MD - "Drinking water enables the skin to better shed toxins and thus keeps it cleaner. When the skin is dehydrated it cannot shed toxins from the body and skin rashes or breakouts can occur. Use 1/4 tsp. of sea salt for every quart of water you drink. Use a good sea salt, one with at least 80 minerals, liberally with food. As long as you drink the water, you can use the salt. Some put it in their water, some lick it off their hand, some season their foods after cooking. It's up to you. Make sure you take potassium daily (banana, orange juice, etc) "

Dark Circle Eliminator

Slice one small piece off of a potato, and cut the slice in half. Put each slice under your eyes and leave them under your eyes for 20 minutes.

Stress can cause circles, bags under the eyes, skin disruptions, wrinkles around the eyes and premature aging.

To soothe your tired eyes place cucumber slices on eye lids while relaxing in a hot bath for ten minutes.

For dark circles or bags under your eyes you can place slightly warm tea bags over your eyes, leave on for 10-15 minutes.

Best of health to you

Dark circles under eyes can be caused by several things. As mentioned in previous answers, lack of sleep can be one reason, as well as sinus issues. However, some dark circles are actually hereditary and there's not a whole lot you can do about them. Try using some concealer, sometimes that will help alot to minimize their appearance, but won't actually make them go away. Good luck!

i think they can be due to several reasons, some permanent (i.e., genes) some temporary (i.e., poor sleep). They are caused by broken capilliaries underneath the skin and can be minimized by getting proper sleep, hydration and using concealer with your makeup. I've heard there are also home remedies such as putting tea bags or cucumber slices on your eyes while they are closed.
