I know some of you will say that I just shouldn't get one in the first place, but for this particular hickey, IT'S TOO LATE, IT'S ALREADY THERE, and telling me not to get one to begin with or telling me hickeys look trashy does NOT help me right now...what I need is someone who can tell me an effective way to reduce the appearance of the hickey...and don't say turtleneck or scarf or hooded sweatshirt because my school requires uniforms and we aren't allowed to wear scarfs during class or put the hoods up on our sweatshirts. i've put makeup on it for now but it's still kindof obvious...HELP!

Keep your hair down. Apply some foundation, and dont draw attention to it. Since you are conscious of it, it appears super obvious to you. Most people actually arent paying that much attention.
To make it go away fast, apply ice to it for 10 minutes as often as you want, but at least daily. Lightly rub a finger or comb over it from the inside-out to help dissipate the blood, making the color less dark.

I've heard some stories about how to get rid of hickeys and i dont know if any of them are true, but it won't hurt to try, right? :-) I've heard that if you put a frozen steak on it, it will not only get rid of swelling, but makes the blood that came to the surface go down. A hickey is cause by blood rising to the surface so anything that will make the blood go away should work. Also, if that doesnt work, you can always use makeup. If its mostly purple, use the opposite color on the color wheel (i think its orange) and put some orange eyeshadow over it and then coverup. If it's mostly red, use green. This works for I have used this method to cover up bruises and my mom uses green face makeup to get rid of the rosiness in her face. I hope this helped. Good luck!

1) ice it for about 20 min
2) use the back of a pencil and work in circular motions outward
3) ice it again for about 10 min
4) put a heating pad on it
~All this should reduce the red blot~
After that all you can do is use foundation to cover it up and if someone asks, laugh, and say "Oh, yeah, isn't that hilarious? I got a bug bite on my neck- so now it looks like a hickey!"

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about this affliction. A hickey is nothing more than a bruise, and like all bruises it just needs some time to heal. You can, however, try a few tricks to make it fade faster.

Apply foundation, and let it heal over the next few days. If your hair is long enough, try doing a really loose ponytail at the nape of your neck off to the side to cover it up.

wear your hair down(if ur alowed too) and put alot of foundation on and probably some powder too.(it sounds to me like ur a lil self cons. about your apperance) so dont worry bout it, it will go away eventually...give it a couple of days.

Foundation helps a lot. And people probably won't notice if you don't draw attention to it.
