Would anybody else like to see a bunch of obnoxious little ASBO chavs who think they are dead "hard" (you know, the ones who hang round the streets threatening old ladies and twoccing cars and trying to mug people) go through military training to sort out just how "hard" they actually are?

I was thinking of something like the SAS selection course with "Seargent Eddie Stone" (That scary Glaswegian who took the contestants through "SAS are you tough enough")

Methinks they'd last five minutes before they would be crying for their mummies.

Might teach them some discipline though . . .

Bring back National Service, but only if the Chavs go into their own regiment: The Chav Regiment, or "Cannon Fodder Corps"

That way, the regular, brave volunteers in the Army won't have to watch their backs while out in the field. The Chav regiment could do the jobs that the regular Army hate doing.

This solves the military manning issues and Chavs at the same time!

That is a fantastic idea. And yes i believe they should bring back national service for all. The only problem i could see is that it did not cure the chavs then you would have a load of ASBO scum running around blowing stuff up, killing people with one punch, buying air pistols and double-tapping cats, setting up ambushes on street corners for old ladies and generally terrorising the locals.

Good idea though.

I'm a chav myself and i totally agree with you,i don't go around threatening old ladies though.I think SAS training would sort them out in no time and maybe every school in the UK should be like military school and have a British Army Sergeant as the principal.

Ha ha , Yes they would be crying all the way home from Wales.

Walking and Navigating 60 Miles through the Brecon Beacons would be way to tough for a Chav.
They wouldnt be able to hack the sh!tty British Army Training for 12 weeks.

I do believe that some of you good folk are getting close to a solution as to what to do with these obnoxious little sh..s. They should be conscripted for two or three years. We do not have enough troops to do the job effectively, in the theatres of conflict we are invlved in and this would no doubt ease that situation, if they could cope with it!! Anyway it would get the scum off the streets.

Professional solders need to look forward, not back at what the ASBO individuals doing. Get tough with the despicable creatures. But `Boot camps` seem an idea, Sgt maj will have NO messing.+ no political c*** ups. Thats my view.

The British army would not be able to accommodate them and what professionals would want to work with them ? I wouldn't would you?.

No I think we should open boot camps out in the middle of nowhere for young offenders, let them do their time running about the countryside with full packs on their backs, cooking on camp fires, sleeping outside in tents winter and summer, trouble is the home office will not allow it seemingly it is against their human rights.

Or they'd just not do it. They don't want to be soldiers, they don't want to be there, so what perogative do they have to do anything their sergeant tells them?

Most 'normal' people wouldn't be able to hack the terrible things the SAS do to their soldiers - it's incredibly tough. If you were going to use the army to teach discipline to them then they'd have to do basic training like everyone else, it's still very hard - and they'd have to say either do it or face prison.
