Sure; that saying is common sense and applies to anybody -even athiests.
Insulted? I'm not insulted by anyones slanders, questions or otherwise ridiculing of Christianity.
Hey, go for it. Why in the world you would think it would affect a Christian in some way, i don't quite get, but its cool.
You don't need any of this "God" stuff anyway, right? You've got it all together - yep, you are the guy who could teach the rest of us a thing or two - I bet you have a perfect family life, perfect relationships, no financial worries, great job you love, great life all the way around. Everything is just perfect in your life. What does a perfect guy like you need with God anyway?
Even God will respect that. He will not bother you for one minute, he wants you to make the choice, and great! you've made it. Good for you! We do not have to live with your choice; you do. No witty little saying or insult towards a Christian is ever gonna change that.

Very rarely are Christians insulted when Christ or Christianity is slandered, ridiculed or questioned. Ususally it is a case of not knowing how to properly answer someone who has slighted a loved One. It is a matter of family, like you saying something about my mother.
Also, the times people mention something about it it is usually out of a guilty conscience.

"YOU ALL"...hmmm that means EACH AND EVERY CHRISTIAN. Well hoss, I for one am not insulted when non-believers ridicule my faith. My faith is strong enough to withstand any hate filled comment YOU PEOPLE can throw at me. Anyone who ridicules another's faith only shows that person's ignorance. I don't accept the tenets of many faiths, but I do not ridicule them. In a discussion I have shown a person of another faith (other Christian denominations, other religious faiths) what the Bible says and ask them to explain their belief on the matter.
As far as the "DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU WOULD WANT THEM TO DO DO YOU," ...why would Christians WANT to be ridiculed and slandered?
Your question and comment shows your lack of knowledge of the Christian faith.

Real Christians do believe it. Judging every Christian (or any other group) by the actions of a minority of their people can be a big mistake. Not all people who call themselves Christian are examples of what Christ taught. There are good, honest, truly kind Christians, and then there are ones that call themselves Christians but they are back biting, mean spirited, nasty people. This kind of thing is found in any group of people--No matter what faith they claim.

At the present time there are two, what the world calls, "religions" that are directly against The Christian Faith as declared enemies... I will do what ever necessary to fight against them... as they seek to remove God's Word from the earth I wll do or say anything I can to help eliminate them...There is another that is a blatent deception of satan. I will spek against it at any oportunity.... there is no prohibition against self defence, or the defence of others, In God's Word..... as to other "faiths" that I know to be wrong... I will speak in oposition to them in open debate in civil mannor at the apropreate times and places... at all other times I will live and let live

The statement is "Therefore however you want people to treat you, do so for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 7:12)
I for one have lived this way for at least 30 years.

some Christians may come across as being mean when they share their faith, and for that I apologize. All true Christians desire is that people come to realize that Jesus is our salvation. Jesus told us that we would be insulted for His sake, and for that I am not sorry.

Every major religion in the world has a variant of that saying. The words change only slightly, and the meaning remains untouched.
