mt radio is locked after i had to clear an epc fault by disconecting the battery.
its showing a small number 2 in he left corner and the word SAFE Iin the centre. I have pressed prog and no joy , its been like this for 24 hrs now

i do have the radio code , but it wont accept the code, ie i cant physpically enter it !

The stereo will say SAFE if you have incorrectly loaded a code. The SAFE time delay which will increase the more times you enter the wrong code.

If you have lost this code, most independant car sales pitches will be able to decode and re-code stereos, they have the software to do this as some cars arrive without history. When they have sat and got flat batteries, or when they are serviced prior to re-sale they need to detach the battery etc, I know of two locally here who do it.

Just try ringing around a few second hand car sales places, they will ususlly unlock your stereo for £20. Or ask Volkswagon Group.

You need to get the code from the dealership. Once you have it, its easy to program it in.
