Three ways:
1) Balance the lens on finger. If edges point up like a cup or bowl, it is correct. If edges point outwards like sauccer, it is wrong side
2) At the apex of the bowl, gently pinch, if edges approach each other, the side is correct BUT if edges point away from each other, the lens is inside-out.
3) Look for identification mark provided on some lenses like 123, AV, FL etc

If it looks like a bowl with a rim it is inside out, also there is a number imprinted on the lens on my sons it is 123 if it reads backwards it is inside out. Both of these ways helps my 11 year old son tell the difference before he puts them in, hope it helps you.

I usually feel uncomfortable, the vision is not clear, feel like haze on the contact lens.
