They are the same - the amount of alcohol in one glass of champagne = one beer = one shot...etc

So they would have the same affect on a person.

Champagne usually has a bit more alcohol in it. Usually around 11%. Beer has usually anywhere under 7%. Therefore, champagne will get you drunk quicker BY VOLUME. Of course, it all depends on how fast you drink also.

In two glasses of equal size, with beer filled to the top in one and champagne filled to the top in another, the one containing champagne will have more alcohol in it.

Krista: A shot of liquor equals two beers, not one.

It is not the actual drink but the amount you consume of it.
A shot of liquor equals a glass of wine and equals a can of beer. Champagne does not have much alcohol in it at all, mostly just used for it's sparkle.
So technically you cant get drunk faster off a different drink. I mean, that most people have a glass of wine and thats it. When it comes to shots people always have more than one, especially with a beer. So it's all about consumption. Each of these drinks takes one hour to clear your body (that's one drink or shot during that hour).
If you want to get drunk much quicker by consumption take shots.

Champagne has a higher alcohol content, so drink pints of both at the same speed and the fizz will get you first.
