I think they "dislike your hobby" because street racing is illegal (everyplace I know) and dangerous for you and INNOCENT bystanders.

So they don't want you to do something illegal and dangerous---sounds reasonable to me. In fact it would sound reasonable to me if they took away your car.

Why don't you find someplace near you to legally race cars? Educate yourself about racing and show your parents what you know and ask them to help you race on a real track.

Last year a pair of street racers caused the death of a pregnant woman and her unborn baby just weeks before she was due to deliver. The woman was a preschool teacher. The woman's family was devastated as well as the school and the little kids who loved their teacher and knew she was going to have a baby.

How would you feel if you (or someone you were racing) killed someone else? Could you live with the fact that for a few minutes of thrill and speed some kid doesn't have a mommy anymore? Or some dad has lost his wife and child?

Find out how to race on a track near you and become the next Danica Patrick (the Indy 500 driver) instead of a traffic hazard.

My husband is 27, a father of 3 and is a kickboxer - and even at his age, his mom still does not approve. It's because she's a MOM and as a mom myself, I totally understand. My 7 year old just decided she wants to drop ballet for kickboxing - I am going to let her becuase I want her to do what she enjoys - but it scares the crap out of my and I can't say I am overly happy about it because I now it's not nearly as safe as ballet, lol.

I don't care how "good" you are at it, street racing is dangerous. My best friend's brother was killed street racing. Your parents don't want you to get hurt, no matter how old you are.

most parents like to see there kids off the streets. lol, no for real tho its probably just because they think you can do better in life like become a doctor or whatever. I wouldn't stop doing it, if its what you like to do then they will learn to except it!

they dotn like it probably because its very dangerous to street race, not just to u physically, but you could get arrested because its illegal. personally i do think its really cool, but i wouldnt want my child to do it either (neither would i)

They don't like it because its illegal and dangerous and could get you killed or arrested. It means they love you, you should be happy about that.
