My brother swears by this 7pm rule and similarly a friend says just don't eat 3 hours prior to bed. I have a hard time following rules but if get hungry later in the eve I try to snack sensibly- at least avoid a sugary processed carb. I also have heard that when you're hungry drink water, that will satiate you and most likely you were dehydrated and not really hungry. I can't really say whether it's good for your body but I can't imagine it being harmful.

You don't want to eat right before you go to bed... eating a heafty dinner is never a good idea because most people don't exercise after dinner, so some of that food is converted directly into fat. I like to drink noncaffeinated tea after dinnner to make myself feel a litte fuller, or to keep me from eating more.

it depends on your schedule and eating habits, but the best way to lose weight by changing your diet is to eat 6 or 7 small meals a day, but if you're going to eat 3 meals yeah evening time it is best to avoid eating and especially large meals at the evening meal, your body is slowing down in general at that time so you shouldnt over fuel it...

There was a study done and oprah reveiled that it didn't matter WHEN you ate if mostly mattered WHAT you ate and how active you are. Most other country's eat late in the evening but they don't have our weight problems.

Eat small portions more often. Don't go to sleep right after you eat. Avoid, sweets, deep fried foods, foods with a lot of fat, alcohol, and soft drinks. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, grains, fish, and drink lots of water. For more information, please visit this nutrition site:
