that children under 4ft7 still have to wear a safety seat because they are not tall enough to ride in a car with only a regular seat belt!!!? I personally think that is the most stupidest thing ever I was in third grade when i was 4ft7

Big brother has gotten toooo involved raising our families. Like the heelies (shoe with a roller in the heel ) require the child to wear a helmet. Soon they will mandate helmets on our babies at all times. Unfortunately there are those lousy parents that have brought these kinds of laws to us all.
edit; Why do school buses not have safety belts..... MONEY

The safety seat can be just a little booster seat, and the reason for this law probably has something to do with the safety of the shoulder straps during collision. Perhaps they caused neck injuries on shorter people, or worse. I don't think they just made this rule up for some arbitrary reasons to punish short people.

What about adults who are that short? What about pre - 1964 cars that have no seat belts, because they were not required to? What about older cars that only have lap belts & no shoulder harness? Am I suppose to put such a person in my trunk or something??? Next thing I know and I'm breaking the law, while I am Me... just being Me, like always. Same car as in years gone by.

Do you have children? I hope not. The law may seem stupid to you, but it is not for you. It is to protect innocent young children from idiots that might drive recklessly. Most parents want to protect their kids.
