UFC and Pride fighters are on a diffrent level. It makes me sick to read the guys answer who said "UFC but Pride has Silva". Just come out and say you've heard the name Wanderlei Silva before but know nothing else about Pride. Pride has arguably the best fighter in the history of the sport with Fedor Emelianenko. It wouldn't be a contest between a Top Pride fighter and Top UFC fighter. Imagine this Fight card
Fedor vs Silva
Wanderlei vs Liddell
Henderson vs Anderson
Gomi vs GSP
Pride is the major leagues and UFC is little league.

That is a good question. I watch more UFC than I do Pride but I know that the only pride fighter that I have seen win in the UFC is Silva.

PRIDE all the way, fedor would kill Tim Silvia.. Anderson Silva was only a medeocore fighter when he was in pride now he is kicking *** in the octagon... if you watch pride you will always see an exciting fight because of the different styles of fighting unlike UFC which is a majority of the time.. a dry humpfest. Here's how i see it
UFC = American hicks humping, same styles, endless re-matches of the "top" fighters, lacks fighters in Heavyweights, Light Heavyweights
PRIDE = More international fighters, more styles and talent
..do your research on the net, any knowledgable MMA fan will agree, alot of people that pretend to know this and that bout MMA but have never heard of PRIDE or K1 are a joke

From what I have seen, PRIDE has better fighters than the UFC. The UFC has alot of up-and-coming, young, and hungry fighters who are still quite fresh, and by comparison to some of the fighters in PRIDE, these fighters may be less experienced. However, as Mixed Martial Arts continues to progress forward and with its increasing popularity, we may continue to see highly skilled fighters fighting in both the UFC and PRIDE.

Mike Tyson has just recently signed with PRIDE, and obviously CroCop and Jackson have just signed with UFC.

I thik each promotion has it's good fighters and has it not so good fighters.

If you look at how pride will take on their fighters. If a Guy can put up a good fight, show heart and draw the crowds they will have the back on the show. HEART and DETERMINATION has alot to do with it in Japan and the Jpaenese love a good fight and this is what the Promoters want to do.

UFC, Dana White and Zuffa want to put on the ultimate show, I think they feel that there Fighters have to be Very Good and this does'nt always work. If a fighter loses a few fights in a row, will they have them back on the card?? Probably not!

You can't say that any promotion has better fighters, because that opens a whole can of worms. Different weights in the promotions, different rules, the use of the cage.

Also fighters are now changing promotions and also there is the introduction of the BODOG promotion and International Fight League, who will sign to them when their current contracts run out.

All I know is there is a lot of movement in the MMA world and it looks as though 2007 will be an Excellent year

Pride has the best fighters for now.

The UFC has stepped up a bit with the introduction of Cro Cop, Rampage, and Herring. Let's hope it continues.

It's the same, Pride maybe a little deeper as far as there talent pool, but the UFC is catching up. Pride is more competetive in the heavyweight(206lbs+) and the 185lbs classes and I think UFC is more competive in the 170lbs and there about even in the 205 with the sighning of rampage
