american bull dogs, stadfordshire terriers. this list can go on and on. depends on who you ask. a paranoid community will see a lab mix as a pit mix.

there is over 20 breeds that are often missed identified as pit bulls. Mastiff, jack russell terrier, american bullbog, boxer,black mouth cur, great swiss mt. dog alapaha blue blood bulldog are just a few. Then throw in mix breeds, you can see why the pit bull is the most missed identified breed. The woman across the street identified a standard poodle as a pit bull. Often if someone as been bitten by a large dog due to the media most people well think that dog was a pit bull, how many times do you hear about other breed attacking somone, if it is not a pit bull it is not news.

Some people think any short-haired, strong looking dog is a Pit or mix of Pit...when I worked for vets, we had clients say they had been asked that about their dogs, from Pugs to Labradors!

we have an American bulldog. people always mistake it for an pit bull. she is on my profile. they kind of look smilier, but she is bigger then a pit bull! hope this helps. :)
