Former ex calls me and express their feeling for me when they are drunk but when they are sober they deny?

My ex called me while he was drunk. He expressed his feeling for me and even wanted to hangout. I would like to be with him but when he is sober he denys that he want to be with me. I know I should leave it alone. Is there something else I can or should do?
