I saw a Assembly Of God church in my neighborhood and thought about going.

Of all the Pentecostal churches in existence, the Assemblies of G-d is one of the best. I spent a year at one a number of years ago and was very glad to be a part of it.

I have attended several Assembly of God churches and studies their doctrine (which I disagree with). They believe in speaking in tongues, healing and tithing and of course believing on Jesus and being saved. Their services are quite loud, although they frequently do have some good musicians and singers. They don't require anyone to speak in tongues but they do encourage all to seek the experience. If you agree with their doctrine and enjoy a loud, active service, you would enjoy going. Prolonged loud noise gives me a headache and a feeling of confusion so I would prefer a more quiet atmosphere (my personal preference).

I spent 3 years with an AOG and I was ignored most of the time just because I didnt fit in. The reason I didnt fit in?
Because I did not "speak in tongues".

I tried so many times, I prayed, I tried to beleive, but my logic and reasoning kept getting in the way and I was always asking too many questions.

You are strongly exhalted to "follow the crowd", and "accept the holy spirit into your life" (thats the next step after accepting Jesus) and as proof of your belief you must "speak in tongues." If you do not speak in tongues, then you are not considered a serious beleiver and they will quietly exclude you.

That is my experience anyway.

It is a type of Christian based church. Different strokes for different folks. Go try it. You need to find a church that you accept as your church family.
