I can't quite figure him out. He runs so hot & cold all the time so much that I finally said hey listen you win, let's be friends, if you ever need anything let me know. I did this as a result of him not contacting me for 5 days and the boy will not call me, he'll chat & text but getting him to pick up the phone is impossible. When we're together, we have a great time but he's so distant when he leaves. My friends say I need to stroke his ego to get him to open up but that's not my style. I'm just tired of his constant get close, pull away, get close, pull away. Now he's sent me an ecard, should I just ignore him? He's a pain in my rear...what's his deal?

Men and women usually want different things from relationships. Your friend is right about ego-stroking. If you like/love/value any male, the way past his defences is to make him feel good about himself. Only then will you know if you're wasting your time.

give him a dose of his own medicine. Don't contact him for a week or so. Don't reply to the e-card. Be aloof.

Sound to me like some of this is on you. You don't seem to want to give him a chance....Other than that, I would say find someone who will do like you want them to do for you and with you,,,but don't expect more than you give....

dump him...his actions are telling you more than you know, remember actions speak louder than words...he's just not that into you...out of sight out of mind...that is why he doesn't call you when he is away from you.
