I always have dry lips. I use labello regularily. Sometime ago I thought I might be overusing it, but after not using it for three weeks more or less, my lips were still dry. Any suggestions of what I'm doing wrong, or what im not doing?

I am not familiar with labello, but here are some things that have helped me in the past.

Change your toothpaste. Some are harsh and can cause chronic dry lips over time. For a while go back to something basic, not whitening or tartar control or baking soda peroxide, try plain old fashioned toothpaste or gel.

Drink lots of water. This makes a huge difference. Juice is ok too in addition to water, but coffee and soda does not really help.

Avoid licking your lips, this is a bad habit that helps only for a minute or two and actually makes them much worse in the long run. Absolutely avoid biting your lips, it is a nervous habit of mine and it is terrible for them.

Stay away from the chapstick type lip balms, there are a few out there that are ok, but most really dont help much. At most they protect healthy lips from wind and dryness, but not much help once they are chapped.

Try the softer lip treatments, vaseline lip therapy is pretty good and there are lots of others in the specialty stores. Bath and body works have a few and so does Burt's bees.

Every night before bed, put on something to help lips.

Make sure you are drinking a LOT of water, and use a lip chap that has SPF in it. If you are spending a lot of time outside you may actually have a slight sunburn on your lips. Use Blistex ointment [comes in a white tube] to get rid of the chapping. Make sure you are not licking your lips. And change your toothpaste to something without mint - the mint can dry out your mouth [and lips] as well.

Drink plenty of water! I have never drunk enough water but I noticed that when I did my lips weren't so dry. After I first realised what worked, I drink loads all the time now just so I can watch my lips change!! :o) I also use savlon if I'm going out in bad weather as I suffer from coldsores

If your lips are still dry I would recommend that you find a winter sports shop and purchase a lip balm from there. The ones that are used on the ski slopes are excellent and will work a treat on your lips.

vaseline before you go to sleep- if they feel dry during the day- repeat use as and when- other waxy lip treatments will only dry it out more
