If I take the food up every time I feed so the HUGE one doesn't over eat, then the little tiny 4 pound skinny cat will not be able to eat even as much as she does now.

With the tiny one keep the other cats away so that he/she can eat. Some cats like steal the other cats food that might be why one is so tiny. and for the bigger one give him/her a little less food well that's what i would do.

I had a similar issue with my cats, so this is my best advise.

Your cats most likely need different types of food to keep them healthy. Your normal cat is fine on the diet that he is on now, your "fat" kitty needs some weight control diet, and your very thin cat just needs to be fed a little more to put on some weight.

Your problem might be stemming from a kind of pecking order that your cats have. Your big cat is probably territorial, and may be pushing the little cat out of the way of the food, so he cant eat.

My advise is to feed your cats closed in different rooms, each with their own food bowl. This way you can monitor what type, and how much food each cat is eating. I had to do this for my kitties when one of my cats had to be put on a special diet for medical reasons, and it seemed to fix the problem.

I hope this helps.

Skip the Science Diet, Iams and the rest of the "good" foods offered at the grocery and pet store. They contain a lot of corn fillers and other not so wonderful ingredients. Go to a higher end pet store that specializes in healthy pet foods, and get them cat foods that contin no fillers, just protein and a few vegetables, like Wellness, Paul Newmans, Max Cat by Nutromax and others.
The larger cat will eat less because enough protein is provided and there will be enough for the smaller ones too.

Lock the bigger cat in a room for about 10 minutes and let the little cat eat and then feed the big cat after the little one has eaten because ur not going to able to teach the fat cat to not eat so much so dont try it.

Read this and you'll know more about properly feeding a cat than most vets: http://www.catinfo.org

On a proper diet both cats will eat enough and not too much.

Along with the nutrition information you'll find pages that tell you about the ingredients in many pet foods and show you how to read a pet food label, what to beware of, and so on. You'll see that pretty much all the supermarket brands are pretty much crap, and if you read the label you'll see that Science Diet, which someone suggested, is some of the worst crap on the market.

You can find many quality brands (and a lot of crap) here:
http://www.petfooddirect.com/
If you pull up the product pages on the specific brands and flavors, most of them show the ingredients list. It's much easier to read on the website than in the grocery store!

I'm having to deal with a similar situation. What you might want to do is put the little cat's food where the big one can't get at it, such as up on a table or even in a separate room altogether. Also, I've had to teach my bigger (and younger) cats that my small cat and her food bowls are off-limits to them- not an easy task, admittedly. But it does seem to be working.

Good luck!

You could give all of them their foods in different bowls in different rooms for a while so hat the other two cats can gain some weight but then start feeding them together again.

you might have to move the food bowl;in another room;so the tiny kitty can eat;and get enough to eat.or you could feed themeland sit there while they eat ;so the big on edoesn;t get it all.i feed 3 feral cats ;and 1 cat hurrt;s eats hers;then runs and tries to eat the other ones also,,,, now i have to stand 10 minutes;till everyone eats their own food.i guess it;s a cat thing;but it;s not fair;for the tiny ones.....good-luck

sounds like you have your hands full!!!
first of all, place food for each kitty in separate spots--let each kitty know which is his--feed them all at the same time.
train big kitty to be patient and wait for the little kitties to finish, allow big kitty to taste only thefood the others get--sounds as if big kitty is insecure--make sure when the little kitties eat, that you are paying special attention to big kitty in a different part of the house, so big kitty doesnt feel left out. big kitty is yor first kitty, yes?? so position in the family is questioned--reassure big kitty that bk is still the boss, and the little ones need to get as big as bk is--play with bk while the others eat.
i had a big kitty and a skinny kitty--i had to make bk sit and be patient and wait --they need to learn each command separately, then put them together--my kitties wait for me to eat--they be patient for me to finish and then when i amdone, i allow them to have what little tast is left--teach each command separately so they understand the words when put together.
my bk would sit and watch the skinny kitty eat, then look to see what there was left--and lick the dish to make sure sk didnt leave anything behind....
they will all get the idea--but they need lots of help from you along the way. i also leave out an auto feeder of good dry food--you will need more than one, because the bk will not allow anyone to eat more than bk eats.insecurity rules that activity--reinforce bk's position in your family while this retraining exercise is going on.
good luck and have a good new year enjoying kitties.
