You answer your own question... Bombings carried out by Islamic terrorists are just that. And, bombings carried out by americans is a form of terrorism as well.
Both are equal in action and usually done for the same effect - to kill, provoke fear and cause terror through intimidation, even if Americans use the cause (excuse) of "war" to justify their action. But then, Islamic "terrorists" also are at "war" against the West, the USA included, of course. Logically, if both are at "war", both are "bombers" instead of terrorists.
Lastly, many believe the "War on Terrorism" is a manufactured event created by the neoConservative elements, including the CIA and other (quasi-)military/intelligence groups in the USA. When that is understood, events become much clearer even if it less defines who the enemies of the American "Democracy" are.

I see the difference so clearly that it almost seems as though a 5 year old would tell you.
The US is the only nation in the world that is spearheading the fight on terrorism,in all its forms.Their military kills terrorist, they kill because those maniacs strap plastic explosives to themselves or their children just to let the world know that they are allowed to kill their own and innocent people for the sake of what ?
Were as the US is always on a more subtle tone, using diplomacy (example :in Libya,Georgia) and military action as a last resort.
Terrorists don't negotiate. And one more thing don't mistake war acts for acts of terrorism. When you bombard a target, blasts and impacts are expected, that usually cause some casualties.
But that was not the intension.Terrorists re-joys in the fact that they killed innocent people and the more the merrier.
In war, theirs always a mess, but in an act of terrorism-the bigger the mess, the bigger the after party!!

Terrorist bombings are in most cases a cowardly attack on innocent people. American bombings in some cases are simple bullying and in other cases justified especially where they are against the terrorists. One has to admit that if the Americans did not do the bombing the terrorists will rule the world and cause havoc. But Americans need to be kept in check especially Bush and his like minded followers.

Innocent death is a sad part of our world. When I first read your question, I assumed you were talking about non-military Americans that use bombs. Those people (the Unibomber, etc) are all classified as terrorists, and are currently being held in a high security prison (I forgot where--Colorado maybe?) and the nickname is Bomber's Row. The military actually takes some time to plan out what places really need to be bombed. They are aiming to take out the enemy, not innocents, although it does happen.

Education is good, because it teaches you how to learn, how to discipline your mind. Knowledge for a Christian is knowing the word, knowing your God, His nature, His will, His outlook on things. Wisdom is looking at things from God's perspective and putting them into action. Knowledge is great, but too much of it can puff you up if you don't counteract it with fruit of the Spirit. Ever know a person who's very knowledgeable, but has no temperance and no love? Their knowledge is almost useless in the long run. But wisdom? You find that and your soul shall live, because when you find wisdom, you find the way God Himself looks at a situation. Proverbs 3: By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place; by his knowledge the watery depths were divided, and the clouds let drop the dew.

The American forces use the bombs to take out military targets, such as locations where weapons are being stored or manufactured. Unfortunately collateral damage occurs, especially since many of these locations are purposely located in residential areas or near hospitals or religious sites to maximize the liklihood of innocent deaths and discourage the effective use of bombs to take out these sites. Terrorists on the other hand, as the name implies, use bombs only as a secondary weapon, terror being their primary weapon of choice. Their bombs are intentionally used to maximize terror and indignation and only occasionally employed to achieve a military objective, such as eliminating a threat of force. Their primary targets are in fact not our military forces, but civilians; Iragis, Israelis, people working in the Twin Towers, etc.
The second half of your question, however, implies that you do not have an open mind and have already decided their is no difference between the two. That is a shame.

As stated before America does NOT target the innocent, and just to add one more difference America does it in the open for the world to see, where as the terrorist hide the bombs in cars, on themselves, etc. so as to hide like most cowards.

One is after military targets, the other is just a random bombing of civilians. B-52s dropping cluster munitions is something that would have been used very sparingly. The United States prefers to us precision munitions that minimize collateral damage. The terrorists prefer to use the biggest thing they can to maximize collateral damage.
