Tattoos are created by a small needle with ink flowing though it going up and down on your skin, trapping the ink inside the skin, making it permanent. I have yet to get one, but I've heard the thinner the skin where you want to get the tattoo (ankles, collarbones, both are areas with thin skin, very little muscle underneath) the more painful the tattoo, but on areas where there is a lot of flesh, the tattoo is less painful. I believe the actual tattooing takes only a few minutes for a small design, but the artist has to draw out the design first, transfer it to your skin so you can make sure you like it, and then tattoo, so I imagine the entire process is more like a half hour to an hour for a small or medium tattoo.

uhhhm yes tats hurt but the degrees of hurt are different for everyone some ppl just feel an annoyance
like My sister for instants can get tats all the time, but she hates piercings, Tats are incredibly painful for me ( sitting in the chair for a long amount of time gets to me and constant pricking of your skin )but I love piercerings ( one time pain and your done)
tiny is a relative term, bigger than your thumbnail ?? should not take more than half an hour
but think about if that's what you want cause when it's done it's done, I mean you can have it covered but would you go through all the pain twice ? LOL thats what the tatooist said to me and I agreed and went a little bigger and also some guys charge a base price of 40 or 50 bucks, if your gonna pay that you might want to go a little bigger
( my first one was 80 bucks and the one I wanted was smaller and was still going to be 80 bucks and that did make me rethink the size, only by a little tho)

Tattoos really don't hurt that bad...it all just kind of depends on where you put it. I have a large one on my lower back and the only time it was somewhat painful was when he was tattooing right over my spinal bone. The more skin, muscle, or fat covering the area where you will have it the less it will hurt. I'm a very small girl and I could barely feel most of the tattoo. So I think that you will be fine and it shouldn't take very long...maybe 10-15 minutes to actually do that tattoo plus drawing and placing. I wish you good luck and believe me you will love it!

I have a medium sized one on the back of my right shoulder. It doesn't hurt, at least it didn't to me. It kinda felt like a cat was running it's claw on my skin. You could feel it but it certainly wasn't painful by any stretch of the imagination.
One that you describe will only take a very short time to do, probably no more then 20 mins. Afterwords it feels similar to a light sunburn at the tattoo area but that went away after the first day. Follow the instructions for cleaning and care of the tattoo from the artist and you'll be happy for many years to come.
Good Luck!

To answer your question it depends where you get it. All a tattoo is little needle putting the ink below the skin, but there are ways to get them off; only I wouldn't suggest it. How long it takes also depends like a arm sleeve is going to take longer than a single butterfly. There are chances that they will get infected if they aren't taken care of. (my close friend works a tattoo parlor). Also how long it takes sometime depends on the artist.

depending on the size of the tattoo that you are getting will dictate how lond the process will take. as fat as pain, at the begining it might be painfull but once the area becoms numb u wont feel anything! before you get the tattoo pls, rethink the idea twice and make sure that this is what u like!

it all depends on where you get the tattoo. if you are worried about pain id reccomend something on your shoulder blade. My first one was there nd i hardly felt a thing. Even so, most tattoos still hurt a lot less than most people without tattoos think.

It depends on where you want it. If you have it somewhere bony, like your ankle, it will hurt more. If you get it somewhere with more padding, it doesn't hurt as much. There are local anaesthetic creams available. Ask your doctor about whether you can get some.

No, it doesn't hurt at all. Well, just a little for a small one. It won't take longer than 15 minutes though.
