That sounds like my inlaws. When we got a dog I put my foot down an said I love the dogness of a dog so don't try and control her. My dog is placid and well behaved. The in-laws dogs are always getting yelled at, they are nervous and unhappy....it is a crying shame. People like that shouldn't be allowed to have dogs at all. I had to have a talk with my sister-in-law about crate training (I don't believe in it) because she kept her lab in a crate all the time - like a gerbil. Some people are idiots.

Tell them to buy a robot and give the dog up for adoption so that somepne who can appreciate the dog will enjoy it instead.
