First I have no problem with smokers what you do is your thing. I have co-workers that smoke and when we go on break they get offended when I chose to excuse myself or when I move from down wind of their smoke. They say what are you trying to say that you are too good to stand next to us. And I say no just as you have the right to smoke I have to right to walk away. What the deal are all smokers like this.

I hope I am not guilty of your acquisitions. I am addicted and I know it. It is considered disgusting by some and I try to honor them by giving them some room.

I do have a problem with some people though. I cannot believe that a person 2 miles away in an air conditioned building can smell my cigarette. Sorry, the human nose is just not that good. Another thing that bothers me is the Nazi type attitude that a business can't allow smoking. People can decide whether or not to patronize a business. No customers, the owner will adjust of close the doors. Frankly, the smell of popcorn makes me physically ill, as in vomit ill. I just stay away from establishments that STINK up the whole damn building with that putrid smell. Has it closed any businesses? I doubt it. But if 90% of the theater going public stopped going because of that God awful odor I believe changes would occur. And they would occur very rapidly.

So you see, it is different for different people.

No not all smokers are like that; just the rude one's or the one's that feel defensive about their need to smoke. I use to be a smoker.....2 packs a day........and now I am a non smoker. Times are changing. Most smokers now have to smoke outside and this is making those that do smoke extra cranky. Continue on with your choices, you have the right to want clean air, just don't get your nose in the air over it.

no , I think most smokers r very aware of 2nd hand smoke and r respectful of other peoples lungs and wishes.
Your co-workers r just extra big jerks
I quit 6 mos. ago and i certainly always respected the nonsmokers right not to have my 2nd hand smoke
stick to ur guns and don't worry about those folks.
good luck and a happy new year to u and urs.

A smoker that gets an attitude like this is just as bad as non-smokers that complain about smokers out-side.
Tell them to get a life.

They sound like idiots.
I smoke and I try to be courteous and stay down wind when I am with non-smokers.

You have every right to walk away. I am a social smoker and while I take part in this habit, I cannot deny it has a repulsive smell. Walk on sister, walk on!
