both my daughters love drinking water. They actually prefer drinking water to drinking juice or other sweet drinks. is there such a thing as giving them too much? They eat healthy and get all the other nutrients they need so they're not lacking anything.

It is good that they love water, it is healthy, but you do have to make sure they are getting everything else they need. Are they getting at least 16-24 oz of milk per day? Are they eating well? If they are picky about eating, then you may be giving them so much water that they are not feeling hungry for their meals.

Kids can tell what they need and its difficult to say how much is too much. Try to keep a record of what they actually drink (not what they take to drink, my son for example takes boxes of juice to drink all the time, but only drinks half or less). After you have a few days data, talk to their doctor if it still seems excessive.

It's great that they love water, so let them have alot of it. But it should not replace milk. Toddlers really need to be drinking a couple glasses a day, for both the fat and the calcium.

They really need a lot of calories at this age, make sure they're still drinking at least a glass or two of whole milk.
