Go on line with the Immigration Service. The rules changed a little today, but I don't think they effect what you are doing.

She will need a Canadian Passport, photos, police record, marriage license. You will need several documents as well. If you have all of these the day of your marriage, and apply on the same. It may take a couple of weeks to hear from a consulate but when you do it will be done that day of your appointment.

So guessing- three to four weeks. After she gets her green card, she can apply for a Social Security number. A temporary card will be issued, and she can start to work that day.

My info is probably outdated, so definitely contact US Immigration Service, tell them what your doing, and they will gladly send you a information package. Read it carefully, and thoroughly. Start working on it before you get married, and most of all good luck!

It would depend on how she entered the US to begin with.

If she is entering on a K-1 Fiance Visa, she can apply for her SSN at anytime within the 90 day validity of the K-1 (its best to do it before the marriage, as SSA allows an SSN for K-1 holders, but once married, the K-1 status no longer applies, although a lot of SSA offices still process the SSN after marriage). However, the SSN will say "Not Valid for Employment without DHS Authorization", which means she will need the Employment Authorization Document (EAD) in order to be employed.

If she is entering as a visitor to get married, then she will not be able to get a SSN until she has either an EAD or a greencard.

I advise that the better decrease for contributions be carried out away with, and that the utmost payouts in retirement nonetheless proceed to be as they're, adjusted for inflation. Social risk-free practices isn't a "supply away" software yet one which all of us make a contribution to love a mark downs plan, and could be risk-free against different makes use of by using the government. Do you agree or disagree and why? in case you're so disturbing approximately it then why do not you; first positioned it back into the non-public sector and make to have been no can take out money from it for his or her own interest, 2nd pay back each and every penny you have borrowed from the two Social risk-free practices and Medicare, 0.33 take the unlawful immigrants off of it and people who come over right here yet in no way paid a penny to it, and ultimately have it the same for each guy or woman; in different words government officers are to take part in it and in the event that they choose something greater they do it on their own without the tax payers investment it?yet, the economic stytem feeding the imbalances had in no way been somewhat replaced. They, a team of scholars, stated that each and every person expenses of interest could be 3% or much less for each guy or woman to grow to be wealthy if wanted (which could be actual additionally to taces). the appropriate economic subject could be, they stated, whilst there have been no expenses of interest. Why not attempt this answer? the wealthy could nonetheless be wealthy. My question is: whilst soial risk-free practices will become a situation related to federal debts, why not paintings with a balanced or benefit funds and spend no better than is presented in, as any kinfolk has to try for? Why not ban all loobying presents with a view to get rules that serve the rustic? God bless united statesa..
