having a boyfriend is not actually fixed at an age. the fact is that you need to have certain mind set before getting into that other than just getting into a relationship just because you think you are in love.
having a boyfriend should not later lead in to marriage when you are sure that you are in love with the person. but this is the case when you do not know anything about love let alone be ready for marriage. there are other important things you should focus on at age 11 than having a boyfriend or a girlfriend

Yes I think it's too young because you might not know what you're doing at first. Maybe 2 or 3 years. But It you're smart and responsible enough and think you can handle it then I guess you could give it a try, because I think that people who enter relationships get married later in life because they didn't understand what happend or have bad memories because they didnt know what they're doing. :P So its better to have a more trained, mature perspective on relationships before entering one because if you don't you might get hurt or something and think that all relationships happen that way and won't wanna take a risk again. I know people like that. They're that way cause they dated extremely early :))
BTW , I know this kid who has a a girlfriend whos 8 they're the same age btw =)) I dunno wether they're joking about this but they seemed pretty serious holding hands in the starbucks where I met them =))

I'm 11 and all my friends have one. I've been asked out before, and I said no. I'm not allowed to start until I'm 13. Maybe by then I'll have a stronger feeling about these boys. I still talk to boys on IM and stuff. I can still be their friends.

What could 11 year olds possibly do while dating? the same things that friends do - hang out. so why not just be friends and save all the drama and heartache?
Leave REAL bf for when your older.

I was still playing with GI Joes when I was 11, and getting a girlfriend never ever crossed my mind till later.
You can be friends with another kid of the opposite gender, but please, don't emulate the grown ups or older kids on TV, people are already getting too physically intimate too young already!
Be safe, and be focused.

Well, my daughter wasn't allowed to have one theoretically till she turned 16, but she fell in love at 13, but at 11, boys had cooties.
So, I would say not unitl she is at least 14!

yes way to young,my daughter is 11 and she better never come home and say she has a boyfriend.besides stay young as long as u can,why grow up to fast.boys are only after one thing.

Yes. It's hard enough to keep from playing head games even when you're mature. To expect children to deal with it is just dangerous.
