I had just barely graduated with my Associate degree before giving birth to my son. I love him very much, and I am very glad I have him around! But, I had planned on finishing my Bachelor degree before having children. Doctors told me it was unlikely for me to have kids, and it took me and my husband almost 3 years to conceive my son. When he turned about 10 months old, I went back to school to continue working on my Bachelor's. I was working full time, caring for my son, and doing homework until midnight, but I felt like things were going to be OK. Then I found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks after my son's first birthday. I am due at the end of this month, but I am still in school (part time). I no longer work, and things aren't really going "as planned". Not that things aren't going my way....just not in the right order. Thank goodness I have my husband's support!! With the right support (i.e. spouse, family, friends) you can achieve your goals! It doesn't matter how old you are. All that matters is if this is what you really want and you don't ever have any regrets about your decisions!

I had a child while i college, it's a pain in the butt and makes it very hard to finish. I don't know why anyone would choose to do that. My husband and I thought it would be easy, and we had all these plans. in fact, we both failed the first semester he was born, and had to bust our butts trying to make up for it. Sheer stubborness and not wanting to hear my parents say "I told you so" is the only thing that kept me from dropping out.
I love my son desperately, but i would have loved him just as much after i graduated. There was nothing fun about finals, two papers and a colicky baby while trying to work full time. Wait until you're done, and you have a lifepartner who can help, and you financially set.

You're old enough, but that does not mean you are ready. Since you are in your first year of college, do you intend to take the baby with you to classes, or drop out of school? If you drop out, are you going to resent your husband or the baby if you don't get to go back? Or when you do, if you've got to start over, because what you learned is now obsolete, or you forgot it?
If you really feel college doesn't mean that much to you, and you are prepared to have a child around essentially 24/7, and your financial situation is secure, then you are ready.

Many women have kids at an early age but I think the ideal thing to do is wait until you finish college get a decent career going and get married. If marriage doesn't happen then I think it is ideal to for a woman to have a child after she has matured, finished school and can support herself financially.

Depends on the mental & financial stability of the woman. A baby is a life long commitment. They do not stay cute & cuddly for very long. They need someone to take care of their every need. A college student needs to devote her time to her school work. I'm not saying that it cannot be done, obviously it can. It'll just be easier when she has graduated & has a reliable job. I would wait myself. That way, I could give my child the best life possible.

It really depends on the maturity of the woman and whether or not she is emotionally and financially able to support the child. Even if she is not currently able to support the child by herself but has a good support system and is working toward financial independence then I believe that plays a factor too. What is the father's role? Is he able/willing to contribute to the support of the child?

i think if she is mentally and financially stable she is ok to have a baby
she must also think about if she is willing to give up her college education to take care of this baby or if she has a different alternative .
also is the father of this baby stable ??
if she can answer all of these questions yes, then she is ready.

I think it is important for the baby to have both parents in the picture. And be stable financially.

If you have a good job and a good head on your shoulders i would say 23 sounds good to me don't wait 2 long you dont wanna be 40 something with a newborn baby.peferably wait til your done with college you don't wanna have 2 drop out. Way 2 many people wait too long to have kids and then when their kids get to the age where they wanna run and play they can't keep up with them.
