It was a historical chunk of India before it was taken away because Muslims wanted their own state, fearing religious persecution in India. Since these days, we've seen the opposite. Muslims are 17% of the Indian population, with full civil rights (There are now more Muslims in India than in Pakistan itself). Because India is the world's largest secular democracy, it's had no less than four Muslim presidents in 70 years. Pakistan is a military regime famous for its Blasphemy Law and its persecution of Christians and Hindus; In fact Hindus have been fleeing the country for decades, and are now less than 3% of the population. So judging by Pakistan's inferior human rights record, its lack of respect for democracy and the religious rights of non-Muslims, and the way it was created, does it have the right to exist, or should it go back to India?

Everyone has the right to exist or God would not have put us here. I think people don't have the right to choose if someone else exists or not.

Every country has the right to exist- just like any other country, Pakistan also needs improvements in different areas. If you are really concerned about Pakistan, then why dont you do something to improve its conditions rather than to question its existance. You could raise awareness about human rights situation in Pakistan or even collect money for those affected by the deadly floods that destroyed the lives of so many.

Pakistan has been made more than 50 years ago (in 1947) and its time to move on.
Millions and millions of Muslims went from India to Pakistan in order to live there, many of the migransts dies on their way.

Wikipedia: at the lowest estimate, half a million people perished and twelve million became homeless"

No matter what one thinks about whether or not it was right to form the country, it is very much there and a reunited Indo-pak will be worse than Iraq. Its best to let the countries exist as it is and work towards better causes- like strengthening the ties and friendship between the countries so that families who are divided between the two countries are easily meet each other and the psopect of a war is averted.

I think we need to apply the same test to Pakistan as we do to Israel. Israel has a right to exist because 2000 years ago people with a glancing ethnic connection to the people ruling Israel now, and who practiced a religion the people ruling Israel now gave up 200 years ago, lived there.

Now Pakistanis are descendants of Moguls, who are descendants of Monguls, who left Europe like a thousand years ago.

So yes, using the same logic that created Israel, Pakistan has a right to exist in Germany and European Russia and those terrorists in Russia and Germany need to stop getting foreign aid from the US until they recognize Pakistans right to exist.

Russia's mostly empty except for some cities. A land without a people for a people without a land.

Any group of people has the right to break away from their parent country as long as they have the strength. That is how most countries got started including the USA. So yes they have the right to exist until someone takes away that right. xx

Wrong section. This should be under world politics.

But the answer is that it is a little late now, and there are significant cultural differences. So it is probably a good idea.

Do YOU have the right to exist? Come on - everyone has this right. People cannot help where they are born but they DO deserve respect and understanding from everyone.

Pakistan's track record may not be perfect but it is no where bad as you state it. Plus India's track is not flawless also.
