My boyfriend and I live in different states and so we celebrated New Year's Eve separately. He called 5 minutes before midnight to say Happy New Year and that he might not be able to call at midnight cuz it was so loud where he was. So after midnight, I tried calling for 45 minutes and he just didn't pick up...then he finally called me. Isn't that messed up though that he didn't realize his phone was ringing? He said he couldn't hear it vibrate but why wouldn't he have had his phone on him after the clock struck 12? I just wanted to know what you all thought....

I think you should give him the benefit of the doubt. Lots of parties stay LOUD for a while after midnight, with fireworks, etc. If you are going to have a long-distance relationship, you will need to learn to be a little more trusting. Otherwise, you should probably find a boyfriend who lives closer by!

I think he told you he wouldn't answer his phone and he didn't.I'd also say that if you don't feel comfortable in a long distance relationship you should get the courage to end the romance and be friends until things and situations change. Not being romantically committed will be less of a burden for the both of you and will keep the two of you from hating one another later if it doesn't work out.

With as many people there probably were and with all the loud noise, it is definitely possibly not to have heard it ringing. As for vibrating, if there were a lot of people jostling around, maybe he didn't feel it either. You have to stop and ask yourself, has he given you any reason not to trust him in the past? If not, then give him the benefit of doubt.

No, don't be mad at him. I sometimes have mine in my pocket and it'll vibrate and I won't notice if I'm totally focused on somethign else or it is really loud. It's not completaly his fault.
Besides, if you have to ask if should be mad at him, then you aren't really going to be no matter what any of us tell you. Just think about your feelings from lst night/ early this morning, and decide if you were really mad, or just a little hurt because of it.

Yeah, i would be sorta pissed. He should have at least tryed to call you, gone to the bathroom like 10 mins after the 12:00 mark just to tell you Happy New years right?

Honey I know how you feel- just be thankful he actually called in a timely manner to wish you a happy new year.

My boyfriend told me he couldnt call when the ball dropped because his "parents" would be burnin up his cell. yeah okay- so he didnt even call til twenty minutes after to tell me happy new year and he would call when he got home.

So he called me 2hrs later at 2am.

I totally understand how you feel.

Either he wanted to do his own thing or couldnt hear his phone for real. You know in a club etc. its hard to hear or feel your phone because of all the noise.
