The five-pointed star, or pentagram, is one of the most potent, powerful, and persistent symbols in human history. It has been important to almost every ancient culture, from the Mayans of Latin America, to India, China, Greece, and Egypt. It has been found scratched on the walls of Neolithic caves, and in Babylonian drawings, where it marks the pattern the planet Venus makes on its travels- a secret symbol of the Goddess Ishtar. Sacred texts are abundant with references to pentagrams.

The adoption of the pentacle as a Satanic emblem is quite recent, dating only to the latter half of the twentieth century.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

The upside down pentagram is sometimes used for Satanists but the pentagram isn't Satanic, thats a desperate Christian myth.

Its just a symbol. The top point up is the mind ruling over the body or the spirit ruling over the elements of the earth. There is no evil connotation to that.

The top point down is a symbol of the body ruling over the mind. And, in some Wiccan Traditions, it symbolizes the progression of the levels of Wicca.

Actually the Pentagram was used by many societies before it was considered the "sign of the devil/ antichrist". Pagans, Egyptians, and many societies used many of the religious symbols popular today. Yes, this includes many modern christian symbols as well.

No, as has already been stated, the pentagram (or, cuneiform five pointed star) has been used by many people throughout history as a symbol of many different faiths. It is currently used by several groups today, including Wicca and other Neo-Pagans. When encompassed by a circle, (and usually referred to as a Pentacle) it is generally accepted as the semi-official symbol of Wicca.

just one example of the church demonizing any rival spiritualities. This one is especially persistent. The pentagram is a profound symbol of unity of all the lements udner the dominion of spirit. The church ddidn't want to hear anything excwept their simplistic dogma so they either triviazled, demonized or marguinalised any teachings that might cause pl to question church dogma, whihc until recently, was pursued by a militant arm of the church, whichnimposed their satanic ideal of salvation through blood sacrifice for centuries. They will be judged accordingly.

Your question makes me think of the Pentagon.

If Jesus said that "peace makers shall be called the children of God", what does that make the Pentagon?
